Top 10 of 2010

I know you’re supposed to have your list compiled much closer to the new year, but it’s still January so here’s my list, in no particular order:

1. Train for and compete in a half marathon

2. Attend a stuttering convention

3. Read Of Mice and Men

4. Swim in the Potomac

5. Complete an Interfaith challenge by attending 6 churches of different faiths

6. Read the Old Testament

7. Go camping

8. Grow some vegetables

9. Successfully grow beautiful plants in my terrarium

10. Create a piece of art

Um, are you sure about this swimming in the Potomac thing?

One of my goals is to do the Baltimore Half. It's on October - it would be fun to get a bunch of people we know to do it.

I highly recommend using the institute manual for #6. I did that last year & enjoyed it so much more than any other tie reading it. Good luck!

Awesome goals! Except for the steinbeck one. While the book is nice and short and famous, the story stinks.

I'm interested in the work of art. What will your medium be?
Sounds like it will be a good year for you. : )

Sounds like a full and varied year. Your work of art a tatted something? Maybe Southwest would have a special you can take advantage of to come for some more - and hopefully better lessons.

Melanie - I hear there are cleaner sections of the Potomac. Perhaps I'll develop some sort of superpower after a dip in the river. I'm signing up for the Dismal Swamp Stomp in April. Perhaps race 2 will be Baltimore. That would be fun.

Sarah - Thanks for the tip. I'll look into ordering it. Or maybe I'll just read it online.

Geevz - I've heard that same critique of Of Mice and Men and have managed to avoid reading it till now. Really I need to read it for work since it's required reading here in VA for freshman.

Tamara - I'm not sure about the medium. I'm thinking of some sort of collage or painting.

Aunt Suzanne - I had debated about including tatting on the list. Perhaps with a visit to TX, I could do it. Hmm. Something to think about.
